Up in heaven so long ago
I chose to come to Earth unknown
From sin and the Fall I spiritually die
My Lord would save me, “Here am I”
Set with tools for my mortal test
The gift of agency I was blessed
He said, “Have faith and be of good cheer
Whenever you need me I will be near.”
Now on Earth not sure of the task
The trial and strain I desperately mask
Am I of worth in this great plan?
Faith and trust, do not know if I can
Then a voice, it whispers, “Come unto me.”
Forgiveness and mercy were my plea
I want to be like Him: clean and pure
A broken heart is what I will work for
Love was the purpose, perfection the plan
To exalt every woman and man
The path is narrow, weary but free
The only way is through Gethsemane

A blind man from birth Jesus passed by
And His disciples asked Him why
Master, who sinned? His parents or him?
With love in His eye Jesus replied:
“This is the work of Him who sent me
I am the light of the world.”
The man’s eyes were anointed with spittle clay
My Savior healed him on the Sabbath day
The people judged His might works
He did what they thought He should not
The blind man stood and proclaimed faithfully
“I know I was blind, now I see!”
I hope to have the light of my Savior
I hope to look and see as He sees
For they testify of hope, faith, and truth
His eyes are pure, they are charity
In the garden He suffered so
He felt my joy and pain so low
He wept from those eyes, those beautiful eyes
As He paid the price for my debt
Then from the cross His perfect eyes looked
And saw all of us, He fulfilled the law
While nailed to the tree, with eyes so humble
He forgave the men who caused the trouble
“It is finished” were the last words He spoke
Then closed His eyes and ascended above
He died, my Savior with eyes so pure
That I may use His eyes to see.
Our Savior gave us eyes to see
He gave us the gift of charity
I must see me through His eyes
Only then can I see my
capability
